FULL BODY DONATION
Full body donation is not related to transplantation in any way. This is the donation of the donor body to the Anatomy Department of a University and is usually documented by the donor before his death.
In this case, the donor body is preserved and over a period of 2 or 3 years used in the education of medical and other students. Sometimes procedures are practised on the donor body and may involve a certain level of research.
After this period, if so agreed with the specific University, the donor body will be cremated at the University’s cost and the ashes returned to the family.
